- Cameroon celebrates World Malaria Day 2008
Friday, 25 April 2008 all roads led to Nanga Eboko, the headquarters of the Upper Sanaga Division of the Centre Province. To preside over the ceremony was the Minister of Public Health, flanked by the WHO representative alongside government officials, dignitaries, notables, partner organisations and a host of onlookers. The centre of gravity was the official launching of the campaign to distribute insecticide treated mosquito nets to well over 500,000 households in the Centre and North West. The Friends of Global Fund Europe organized high level series of meetings and events were organised in Paris with the slogan “To decide is to win, together let us make malaria a disease of the past”. This was in favour of the fight against malaria from Sept 9 – 11, 2008
