16 May 2011
Malaria Consortium-Cameroon Coalition Against Malaria (MC-CCAM) will on Wednesday, 25 May 2011 host the RBM Progress & Impact Series Reports to be presided over by the Minister of Public Health at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel. It is an advocacy press event during which in-country malaria stakeholders will rally their forces for a common goal of fighting against malaria based on the benchmarks set by the Roll Back Malaria Partnership. The reports include: (1) Country Funding & Resource Utilization, (2) World Malaria Day 2010: Africa Update, (3) Saving Lives with Malaria Control: Counting Down to MDGs, (4) Focus on Senegal and Zambia and Mathematical Modelling to Support Malaria Control and Elimination. This is a strategic effort to secure high levels of commitments for malaria control in donor and endemic countries to mark December 2010 target of the universal coverageof the Global Malaria Action Plan (GMAP).
After a thorough consultation, MC-CCAM was nominated by the RBM Partnership through its Malaria Advocacy Working Group (MAWG) as the Lead-Parther for a launch event in the Republic of Cameroon.
